When a pet passes

It's incredibly sad when we lose an animal. An animal that we loved and gave love back to us. Last Night my friend’s dog passed away and it was heartbreaking to find out the news this morning. His name was Houdini but he called him Hoodoo for short. I only met him a few times and I got to love on him and see how much he loved my friend D. See D raised Hoodoo from a very small puppy and he trained him all by himself. He was a mix and just so sweet. D and I hung out for a few days and when we got back last night Hoodoo wasn’t doing well. He was throwing up and crying out to his owner. So D spent a few hours with him telling him how much he loved him and doing what he could to show his dog that he was always a good boy.

I think in the end Hoodoo knew that he was loved and was desperately waiting for his owner to return. I’m not going to lie my heart is filled with sadness right now. A pet passing is really difficult and it is even harder when that dog passed with a sickness. Hoodoo was eight years old and for a dog his size that is still so young. His life was shortened and I wish it wasn’t.

If you have animals I hope you let them know how wonderful they are. I hope you give them lots of love, feed them those treats, and treat them like family because they are. You are their whole world and they deserve only the best of the best kind of treatment from you.

Don’t take their lives for granted because one day, they will be gone.

--------------

Goodbye Hoodoo I know that you are in a better place and have made your way over the rainbow bridge, I hope one day you will see your owner again.
