Sam Houston National Forest

There's this national forest called Sam Houston National Forest. I decided to reserve a night in the area due to not only it being a national forest but it also being in correlation to someone I know. I have a friend back home whose name is Sam Houston so as a slightly humorous twist I decided to stay. Of course once I got there I had to make some adjustments. The area was flooded from all the rain that they got so we had to stay in the car for the night. So we made some adjustments in the car and I laid out the sleeping bag. Surprisingly it was pretty comfortable and we slept really well.

The next day we got up and the sky was beautiful. Once I got a good look around I realized that the area was really quite nice. So I got up, got ready for a run and set out for some exercise. Once I got done with my three miles I went into the bathroom to take a shower and left Spice chilling with the window rolled down. Once I got into the bathroom and got undressed I went to turn on the shower and of course there is no water for the shower. At all. I twisted turned, pulled, nothing. NOt a drop. Frustrated but accepting defeat I got dressed and went back out.

Getting to the car I saw Spice hanging out on the ROOF of my car like it was another day. After some struggle I got her down and rearranged the car back in order. After that I put Spice's harness on and we set out to explore the area. As It turns out the campsite we were staying at had a dock area that was on the lake. Spice gotta check it out and she wasn't scared of the water in the slightest. It was surprisingly but it was also nice to see that the training was paying off. So of course we spent the morning and the early afternoon hanging out and getting some sun while we took photos. It was a wonderful day.

So if your ever wanting to go somewhere in Texas then I suggest staying in the Sam Houston National forest. Its peaceful, there's plenty of space between the campsites, and its on the lake.
