I don’t know about everyone else but I know that I am going to be working on 4th of July. It’s one of those holidays that I never miss and I am always working my butt off. Of course for my part time job today is the busiest time of the year so I am sure we are slammed over there. A lot of people would be surprised to hear that we are busier today then we will be tomorrow. The reason being is that we have this big event called Smoke on the Coast every year on the 3rd. It’s where all the big food vendors make a stand, grill some food and have a competition to see who has the best food out there. Everyone comes to buy tickets, stand in line and get a sample of everyone’s food. 

Because of that we get a ton of customers and the line is out the door all day. We even stay open until 11 to make sure we get to most business that we can. For those of us that work on this day we have to show up a few hours early just so we can find places to park. It’s an absolute mad house and there have been a few fights over spots and areas to park. Really it’s quite the time. 

For those of us working it’s really all about staying hydrated and making sure we eat some food when we go on break. If you make the mistake of not bringing food you will have a hard time getting anything to eat at all. No one in the area will be able to serve you and let you eat in the thirty minutes that is your break. 

So if you are out in the Destin area today please be safe and pay attention. Not everyone drives safely and not everyone is sober. I hope everyone has a wonderful July 3rd and an even better July 4th.
