Ridiculousness at the movies

So we went to the movies yesterday to go see Aquaman. Of course It was a super rainy day so the theater was packed full of people coming and going. When we had gotten to the theater we decided to just go straight to the line that was waiting for us. As it turns out they had expected it to be a pretty big event so they tried to set it up like a midnight showing. Fortunately we got their early and we didn’t have to wait to long. Once we got in line they opened up the doors and let us in so we got some of the best seats at the front.

For 45 minutes we sat there watching the same damn commercials over and over again. I could hear D's dad saying that he would wait for the DVD for the movies since it was like this now. The commercials were awful and there really was no end to them. They even went on five minutes past the time that the movie was supposed to start. Not only that but they were talking about the packages you could get to enjoy the show with. For  instance they said you could get a large popcorn, large drink, and two candies for only (ONLY) $24. Oh yea, sounds like a bargain for me. Not. When my dad and I used to go the movies all the time it was like $5 to $10 for all that. They want so much now just to sit down and enjoy a movie with your friends and family.

Once the movie got going everything was all good...until there was a slight blackout in the screen that made the movie go all wonky. It literally became fractured and turned into all kinds of pinks and purples. It took them ten minutes to get someone to stop the movie and that was done they came out, said that they would give out free movie passes for the inconvenience and after a little while longer the movie started back up. Aquaman was a great movie, all in all but it made me realize that I don’t really like going to the movies anymore like I used to. It really is quite sad to see that something I used to really enjoy is now worth an arm and a leg just to go.

Sadly the times really have changed.
