Yesterday was a very good day. I woke up at 8 a.m, had a coffee and got some work done, got up and prepared a package, went running, took a shower, and had dinner. I got everything done before 2 p.m and man did it feel good. At 1:30 I left for work and by 2 p.m I was working away at the ice cream shop I work part time at. The first four hours were an interesting time but after I got back from my break I hit a slow point in the night. I went from being all happy and fun to tired and a little hangry. I’m not going to lie I wasn’t sure I was going to bounce back.
Somewhere around 7:30 I got back into the groove of things and it was mostly due to my coworkers making me laugh. It happened out of nowhere and I honestly wasn’t sure where it came from but I knew that I was happy again and that I felt good at the work place. My coworker and I are working around each other and throwing jokes back and forth. At some point I was making faces and noises and she was having a blast. Really when I get this way I am who I wish I could be 24/7. If I could be like that every day of my life I would be golden.
Towards the end of my shift I have a customer come in and come up to the ice cream bar. I smile, greet him and wait. He tells me his order and I get it for him. I ask him if there is anything else I can get him. He replies no so I go ahead and start to ring him up. I tell him his order, he gives me a $20. With change in hand I start to hang it back to him, he looks at me and the money and replies "Does that come with your number?"
What?
You guys, I laughed. It was clever but I couldn’t believe this was happening. I smile at him at reply. "No. But you can give me your number, if you want?"
He reaches into his wallet and hands me his business card. I told him to have a good night and he left. I swear guys I am not sure why stuff like this happens but it does. Sometimes I have people throw their religion on me and other times I get numbers. Who would have thought?
