Back into the grind

It’s weird when you have been gone for a while. You come back home, you unpack, put everything away and then try to go back to your normal schedule. The first thing I did when I got back was do all my laundry. I had such a huge pile and just to get through that pile I had to take most of the day washing, drying, and putting away clothes. In between washes I got to put everything in its appropriate place in my room. After that was done I remember just passing out on my bed. Spice and I got in around 11 p.m and we had driven 6 1/2 hours to get home. I of course left later then I planned and it was due to me wanting to spend a little more time with my friend in Nashville.

When I woke up the next day it was so strange to be back in my own bed. I was used to being in other people's homes and to finally have my bed back was like a luxury. It also felt strange to wake up and not have dogs greeting me or my best friend to smile at and see before he goes back to sleep.

But of course, if anyone knows me they know that I don’t pass up chances to make back the money I used on trips. So I had offered to work a few shifts for my part time job. I figured that it was best to jump back into the grind and get the money rolling again. Of course there is also the fact that I really missed everyone at my part time job. Does that mean I missed the 9-5 job? To an extent, yes. I missed the people that I get to be around at my job and for me that is what made the ultimate decision to get right back into the grind.

The first day back on the job I was so excited to see the people I really missed and Immediately got hugs from someone I truly admire and lots of smiles. I’ve been gone for a whole month and for all us I am sure that the time flew by. The whole day I was working I felt like the world was right. Everything was right. I got to see everybody, smile, and just enjoy the normal work day. To spend time with people I love and enjoy being around is worth more to me than any normal day at home. I can’t wait to have more shifts with them and to hang out with some of them on a day when we both aren’t working.

Is there something you guys miss when you leave home for a long time?
