The Younger Son

Just a few days ago I took a random trip up to Atlanta for a few days. I wanted to go see my friend from the passenger concert and even though we planned to hangout for two nights, we ended up only having just one to hangout. That’s totally ok though, it anything it meant that I got to go spend some family time with my second family in Cartersville. It was about a forty minutes’ drive from where I was but, I wanted to go there, so I did. I had planned to spend the day hanging out with my friend’s son (really shes like a mom to me but, its a lot to explain at this moment) who I had met a year ago but I didn’t get a chance to really talk and interact with. We had been at a dinner table the last time and I was about to head out to my new job that I just got hired at. We didn’t have much to talk about and I was pretty nervous being around them. It takes time for me to get comfortable enough to have conversations with people and for me it was strange at the time.

In today’s time I felt pretty uneasy but, he had said that he wanted to hangout (if I was ok with it) and since I didn’t have anything else to do I went.

When I got to the house I messaged him that I had arrived and he let me inside. I immediately got all the love from the pets and I started to say hello and rub their heads and give them kisses. The dogs were so happy to see me and they were jumping around and even wanting to play fetch. After a minute I sat down on the couch and he sat down on the other end. We got comfy and started chatting a little bit. Did we wanna watch Hulu, Netflix, Amazon Prime, or Youtube? So many options and I honestly was not sure what to pick. I personally have Netflix and Hulu and I love both. They have good separate selections and from there it became a choice on if we should watch a TV show or a movie. After some back and forth deliberation, we ended up choosing Moana which I had seen thanks to the handy dandy internet. He had asked me what I would rate it and I gave it an 9/10. Quickly we got along and it became apparent that we were going to have an amazing time.

As we watched the movie we joked around and he tried to get me to spoil parts of the movie to him to which I refused and held my ground. You wanna know what happens? Watch the movie, plain and simple. He would respond with some rhetorical remark and then we would both laugh it off or throw snide comments back and forth until one of us gave up. Really that’s how we spent four hours of our time. Just enjoying being in each other’s presence while we watched movies. It was nice to have that moment and I felt right at home with him there. I ended up spending the night ,after some complications with my nightly plans, and even went through the next day with him. We had fun and ended up starting Izombie together which is an amazing show by the way. The actress is amazing and I swear she should an award for her acting. She made both of us laugh, feel the burn or her snide remarks, and, feel like we were a part of the action in a little tiny way.

I want to hang out with him more and get to know him, he was quite the character and I enjoyed being around someone who was so simple and someone who I was comfortable with. There are very few people in this world that make me feel at home and he is one of the few. Cheers to a new friendship that I am sure will do amazing now and in the future.
