From burden falls I decided to go to this place called "Bell Smith Springs". Supposedly it is known as "a little slice of heaven" and I think that it loves up the the standard. From burden falls it was a few miles down the road so I set off in that direction. It took some maneuvering but once I got there I got all my stuff together, changed out my shoes and set off on this trail called "back through time". But of course I stopped and got my gear out of bag and in the process I ran into some people who were on their way back to their car.  Immediately the man stops and looks me over. All my big design tattoos are out and my " in progress" half sleeve is the biggest eye catcher. He takes a second and looks at me.

"I like your tats" he states. I smile lightly knowing I'm on a mission and as much as I appreciate the compliment I had no time to waste. The women he's with sits down and I hear her comment on the matter. "Do they mean something to you?" I laugh a little and reply"yes". From there the man asks "do you like them?" And I can already tell that this is heading in a direction I may not like so I don't give much in return to their comments and questions. For a bit they are quiet and then the women goes "as long as you like them and they mean something to you, then that's what matters" . I smile politely and continue getting things situated .Eventually they leave and I continue onward forgetting the whole thing. I was here to explore and get lost, not caught up in what others think . I chose to have these on my skin and I am proud of them but, I would like it if people would keep to themselves sometimes .

After a bit of looking around I follow a trail that leads to some stone steps. Carefully making my way down I find my way to the river and start exploring. Right off the bat I see why this place has earned it's title of "a little slice of heaven" . The area is beautiful, quiet and full of life. It was green and very well kept. Taking my time I looked at all things that people left behind. There were writing, some art work, carvings, etc. Little pieces of people here and there .really it was quite the adventure . I got very caught up in it and even though the trail was short there was so much to stop and look at. I spent a few hours being apart of the forest and really getting away.  In shawanee there really isn't much service so you really are alone.

I want to go back to that forest and see more .If you've never been and are driving through stop by, take a look. You might love it as much as I did .
