Hey hey hey! So of course there is ANOTHER art sale that is coming up later this month. Whatttttt?!?!?! you thought that was all, pffff nope. This month there will be two different pieces that are made ot be a three piece set. One of them I am very fond of and have hung up on a wall in the house but I also know that I wont keep it forever. So with great sadness but also knowing that someone will give it a beautiful home I will be putting it up for sale. It is by far one of more complex pieces I have made and its calleddddddddddddddddddddd
Fishing for Galaxies
This piece Must be sold as one collective piece and will not be sold seperatly. This piece also comes with a short story that I specifically thought of and is from my imagination. This was also the very first piece I made that is a three piece set. The frame that it is in (in our house) does not come with it but if you do purchase it then please find a way to frame it. You can get a poster frame from walmart that will do just perfectly. I really hope someone will purchase it and give it a loving home.
With that being said it will go up for sale on the 18th of this month so keep your eyes peeled and remember, all artwork is First come first serve. If I do not get a reply within 24 hours about a piece you are wanting then you are out and it will go to the next buyer.
Please be prepared for this piece to be a little Pricier then the others since this is more detailed and is larger then the other pieces.
See you guys at the sale!
So there are some things about Canada that I really loved but there was something that I noticed. The alcohol is very shorted. Now I have had my fair share of drinking (safely of course) and most of it is done at home so I know how drinks are supposed to be done. What I notice right away is that they do 1 ounces, 1.5 ounces or 2 ounces. That’s all. So of course most people probably thing that I have never drank before and just assume that maybe I’m a little goody good who waited till I was legal to have my first big girl drink. Well you would be very wrong. IN the past couple of years my tolerance has gone up and I’m sure it’s from my metabolism going up as well as the increase in alcohol that I have recently been consuming. In Cozumel I had the realization that my tolerance was higher since it took me almost the entire time we were on the island to get wasted.
In Canada though I never got that. I got a light buzz but I had six drinks between two different restaurants and most of it was from the Loose Moose which was amazing and didn’t disappoint me. Other then that everywhere else seemed to be very light and almost a drag. I wanted to try all these different drinks and see what I did or didn’t like. I especially wanted to try things I Hadn’t heard of before and so I did set out to do that. Well there were two times that I was shorted a drink completely. One was in this Chinese restaurant that we really enjoyed. The food was freshly cooked, big portions, and even though the staff didn’t speak much English they still served us quickly and with efficiency.
So I had ordered my first legal drink (In Canada) at this restaurant which happened to be a Long Island Ice Tea and my dad had been raving for days about how these will get me smashed so I decided to try it out. I like tea and certain alcohols so why not? I get the drink and right away I’m asking my dad if it’s got any actual alcohol in it. It becomes apparent that it’s on the fine line of maybe and flat out no. It really just tastes like tea. Once were done eating, out of the restaurant I pull out the breathalyzer and of course it comes up 0. Now I was surprised and disappointed. Of course I can’t be that upset since the guy didn’t speak much English and had a hard time taking our order.
The second time though really made me upset. We had found a place that served alcohol about half an hour outside of the park we stayed at. My dad wanted something other than a sandwich and wanted a beer so we went there. We were going to be heading back the next day so I thought I should have my last drink in Canada there before we go home. So I see this amazing drink on the menu. Its a key lime specialty drink that has vodka in it. I get the drink and I cant tell if anything is in it. I assume there is because she seemed sure about how old I was and I had high hopes. So we go through the dinner and we get the check. ON the check it Says a Virgin key lime specialty drink. Disappointed and kind of angry I let my dad decide what to do with this situation. I wasn’t feeling very good and I just wanted something, just something nice and cooling and it sounded so amazing. So my dad bitches and this women claims that she hit the wrong button and goes on to say "yea there was rum in it"....
.....
Now if you recall there’s supposed to be vodka in the drink. She got very lucky that day because I didn’t catch it right away and neither did my dad. We paid, went through the routine of saying apologies and all that crap and left. Well about fifteen minutes had passed before I got it in my head that I should use the breathalyzer. I also had my head spinning around about the ingredients. Then it came to me. Vodka, NOT Rum. Son of a bitch. So I take out the breathalyzer and blow. What comes up? 0. Again. Agitated and obviously not ok with this problem my dad and I both sigh and we go quiet.
Look if you make a mistake, just admit it. When we found out about it, it ruined a good day and made me very upset. I just wanted a drink, you don’t have to be a dick and lie to me about it. Let me just say that she got lucky that I didn’t catch her in the beginning lying, I’m sure that would have been quite a story.
We took a day and a half to do the falls. There’s a lot to see and experience so doing it in one day is almost impossible. There’s too many things to decide on and honestly they close most of the rides and attractions around eight p.m. It kind of puts you in a bind because you have to go on two different sides. One the Canadian and one the U.S. Now from my previous experience at the Falls I already knew what was worth doing on the American side so it got narrowed down the Cave of the Winds and the Three Sisters Islands. We were going to do the Maid of the Mist on that side as well but Canada gave us a better deal with the illumination and with booze so that was crossed off our list.
When we got to the falls the next day we immediately went and did Behind the Falls on the Canadian side. It was something that sounded incredible and I honestly wanted to experience this more than anything else. It sounded so badass and I thought that my dad would love it more than I would. So we get in line, buy the tickets, do the whole "picture" that they always ask you to do and then put on our ridiculous ponchos. They are never 100% water resistant but at least 80% of your body is covered. So we get down the elevator, out into the tunnel and start going down. Immediately we become amazed. The whole structure was done by hand and no explosives were used to make the tunnels. The old entrance still stands but just barely. There is only one wooden beam that seems to be holding it up and behind that its caved in. As a precaution they put a bared door so that you can look through but not actually be in the old tunnel.
The real fun though was going down the stairs and onto the platform that puts you right next to the horse-shoe falls. Its loud, you’re getting sprayed with water and its apparent that they had bigger things for the attraction but I think the eroding over time made it impossible to continue to make the attraction bigger then it is already.
We took our pictures and then moved to being in the tunnel where they explained the history of the horse-shoe falls and all the people who have attempted to go over the falls. The gave us a description of what they tried to do in the past and how they managed the eroding of the rocks. Of course the tunnel was interesting and there were two places where the tunnel went out to the horse-shoe falls and you could touch the falls but im assuming that someone messed up and fell or go injured and they had to bar it off at a certain distance.
After we got done exploring all the fun parts of the attraction we decided to head over to the U.S part but of course not until we had a drink so we walked until we found a bar, bought a drink and from there proceeded to make our way to the Rainbow Bridge. There you have the option of walking the American Falls and go back in the U.S as long as you have a passport. The only fee you pay is .50 to get out of Canada and to walk across the rainbow bridge. Once we were across and checked back into the U.S we went to the Cave of the winds. This was my favorite attraction on the U.S Side and I wanted my dad to experience it as well.
So we do the trolley for $3 and ride over to the falls. Once were there we buy tickets and they give us sandals and of course ponchos. So we do the protocol, go in the line and into the elevator where they take you straight down to the tunnel out to the walkway. Once you walk down a ways you reach the platforms. You get to spend as much time as you please going on the platforms and of course, take pictures at your own risk. So of course the Go Pro became a very handy thing to have for this attraction. My dad was not disappointed and we took some risks with the cameras. IN and out of the bag they went and when we got to the third platform we were getting too soaked to risk anymore and from there the Go Pro took over.
Once we were all finished we went back to Canada and got some food. It was really fun to experience this again and I’m glad I got to share some of this with my dad, I know that he was NOT disappointed in the attractions.
