I’ve been listening to a couple new CD's that I have purchased. The two that I have had on repeat are Imagine Dragon's: Evolve and Passenger: The Boy Who Cried Wolf. Both of them are two artists that I love very dearly and for me they both give me two different vibes. One is acoustic and very raw. The other is upbeat and encouraging. Now i haven’t given the Passenger one a good run through yet since I only just started listening to it on Friday. So far though it sounds beautiful and as usual Passenger makes my heart happy. His voice is just so raw and it makes you want to sing along with him. Now for Imagine Dragons I will say that I have been listening to it nonstop for weeks. For some reason this album has been hitting home with some of the things that I have been experiencing in my life.
One of the songs is called Yesterday. It’s pretty simple to sing and it repeats a little more then I may like but, it also says a lot to my life in this moment. So here is a snippet of the lyrics for you guys to read.
"All these years I've been searching
Of who I'm supposed to be
All that time I've been wasting
It was right in front of me"
This part of the song is so true. I may only be twenty but that doesn’t mean I haven’t been through my fair share of crazy and stupidity. I’ve mentioned several times that I have quite the past and have shared some stories with you guys. Along with these I have also grown a passion for traveling the world and capturing it all through my lense. It started with my big alone trip to Niagra Falls.Ever since then I have been continuing my journey by leaving for little bits at a time. I get about two weeks before I have to come home and go back to my job. That's all that my jobs would allow and they always seemed to be bothered with it. Yet every time I get hired I tell them right off the bat that I am a traveler, I don’t sit still for long and all I ask is for my times off. They always say yes and then a few months into the job they start to lose interest and are nagging about my adventures.
Well since I started all of this and I started seeing how people reacted to my need to get away, i have started to see who I am. I’m not someone who really likes to sit still for forever and I find most jobs to be boring and repetitive. I may not be amazing at everything I do but I enjoy all the hobbies and traveling that I go take on. Traveling has changed my life and seeing myself as a traveler and finding out whom I am supposed to be in this world has been so eye opening. I’ve bene this way since I was a child and I have always had the same thought process. I want to be happy, I want to see the world and I want to follow my dreams.
So as the song says "Here’s to my future, here’s to my yesterday, here's to change, oh, here’s to my yesterday, no tomorrow without yesterday."
