Christmas Well Spent

Hello! Welcome back everybody! I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. I know that It was a wonderful day here in Florida where the weather was nice a chilly but still sunny outside. I got to be with my family and have the day away from customers and working. My day started out great with me waking up, having some coffee, playing pinball and then going to the neighbors.

Of course I don’t get to hang out with them very often so when I have some time I stop by and say hello. Today was no exception. I get to the house and it has exploded with toys. Everyone is running around showing off their new stuff and food is being made in the kitchen. I come to the kitchen bar and take a seat. All the kids come swarming in and say hello and I even get a few hugs from the girls. This is a new thing that happens more and more. I went from being someone who just got a hello to someone who gets hugged often and there are times when the kids run to me while I make my way to the house. It’s strange to have children actually like you. Normally I’m not great with children so for me it’s a nice change of pace.

Once I get my greetings I get to talking to the super mom. She’s making food for her parents place and she’s struggling with the recipe but it is also wrestling four children running around and wanting her attention. Due to this I help out a bit and give the kids some attention. No work, no stress, just good company. For two hours we spent our time chatting about real things while she cooked food and once she was finished we went outside to play some soccer.

I’ve played soccer my whole life so I’m not used to holding back. Luckily they didn’t expect me to and because of that I had a fun time. I got to have a real experience with this family of six and even win a game with my team. I even got to experience what running on our grass is like (it’s awful by the way but putting on shoes would have taken too long )and because of that we had more fun.

For an hour I got to play soccer with these munchkins and let them see another side of me. I even got to show off some of my skills. Back when I played I had the nickname shotgun and for a good reason. I shoot very far and my kicks are very rough. I don’t hold back and when there is competition I become a beast.

By the time I left the house I felt very satisfied by the day and I felt like this was a good Christmas. Soccer, good food, and awesome company. Who could ask for more?
