Puzzle Obsession

I’ve had this obsession with puzzles recently. Not just any kind of puzzle a 1,000 piece puzzle. My first one was from when I was little. I remember seeing the picture on the box and how much I wanted to make it come to life. So the box was bought for me and over the years I’ve come close to finishing it but, somewhere I would give up. It just became a lot to finish a puzzle that size. Something in me screamed to not throw it away and just last year I got that urge to try something new. I decided to try out the puzzle one last time and swore that If I finished it I would frame it. So for weeks I slowly built the puzzle. I had it all out on a piece of cardboard that came with a frame. I made the puzzle piece by piece and when I finished it I realized that over the years I lost some pieces and that there was nothing I could do about it. Despite that though it still looked amazing and I felt so proud for doing it. It was a challenge but I enjoyed doing it. I thought about maybe doing another one so I looked on Amazon and saw one I really enjoyed. I put in the cart but then decided to wait for a while and take a break. So it sat.

Then one day I was in Books a million and I saw the Harry Potter table. I really loved Harry Potter growing up and when the movies were "done" I felt sad that we weren’t going to go on any more of those amazing adventures. Those were some of the best movies from my childhood and to this day I do enjoy them. So I bought a 1,000 piece Harry Potter puzzle and I managed to finish it and frame it in about a week. From there I bought the amazon one and so on and so on. I just recently finished a 1,000 piece puzzle of big cats. This time I glued it to a canvas and I think it is very beautiful. It looks almost like a piece of art on the wall. I love doing artistic things but this was a different level. I glued a 1,000 piece puzzle that I spent months putting together to a canvas. Wow.

If you have never done a 1,000 puzzle or haven’t tried before then you should. You should make it a challenge for yourself. You can learn so much about how you think and how you see things as a whole. I take forever since I move slower but I do enjoy the whole process and the reward for finishing. Maybe someday you all will give it a try.
