Recently I have been trying to stay off Facebook. I think it’s because of everything that’s going on in the world and the sudden explosion of people in need. It just gets tiring to go onto Facebook and see everything "bad" that’s going on and to try and decipher what is real and what isn’t. For me personally I think posts that say something along these lines.
"Were paying attention to the hurricane Irma but what about all the forest fires? Who's paying attention to that? We NEED MORE ATTENTION!"
yes. Yes. The world is exploding and yes there are lots of tragedies happening everywhere. For me I think its all just another day. For years I’ve been saying the one day Mother Nature was going to do her job and that bad things would eventually happen and lot so people would lose their lives. To me there is so many people and we just don’t have the resources to feed, clothe, give shelter, and so many other things for a population that keeps growing. Everyone is screaming at the top of their lungs about how bad certain situations are and how we need to pay more attention to this and that but honestly, it makes me tired.
Bad things happen and there’s only so much we can do at a time. I think that is out there to try and justify that one situation is worse than the other and to raid websites with all this craziness and plaster these stories that may or may not be blown out of proportion about how bad the situation is....well...I started moving away from it. If the purpose of them was to make people pay attention then I’m sure most of the world has, but for me it just made me shut it down and go back to the things I need to get done.
There’s nothing wrong with asking for help when tragedy strikes but there is something wrong with trying to outdo another place that also has tragedies and we just don’t have the time or the money to pay attention to EVERYTHING. There are people paying attention and that’s the people or state that is affected. It sucks that our world is falling apart bit by bit but at the same time, it was expected to come sometime. I just wish that most websites and news stations would stop blowing most situations out of proportion.
Sometimes begging for attention doesn’t get you attention, it just makes people turn away
