Night Owl

I’m pretty positive that I was a night baby. There are plenty of reasons that I can think of that point to this. One, I really like staying up late at night and just doing what I need to do...but instead of during the day I do it at the unseemly hours that the moon and stars call home. Two, I love running at night and on a full moon. It seems to be the one thing that really makes me happy to be a runner and it’s not because of those whole werewolf folklore stories, despite there being several claims to werewolves being real. I also seem to really enjoy the Moon in particular. I love the way it shines, the way it seems to speak to me, and the galaxies that are up in the sky with it. I could stare at the night sky for hours and hours just letting go of all thoughts and ideas. Really the world is the moon and stars to my mind. Every time I felt down I would always find myself outside, singing under the night sky and talking away to the stars. It made me feel better and I honestly loved that there was no heat coming to fry my skin.

For years I’ve been a night person. It’s been something that I can never seem to really shake and a lot of people think it’s crazy. I have a day job and for the majority that I know they tell me that I will eventually transition to being someone who just sleeps at night but, I have a hard time believing that. I mean, for years the moon was my sanctuary and it may always be that way. I honestly wouldn’t give up this love for the night time for anything in the world. I have posters of galaxies, the moon, stars, and constellations all in my room. It’s everywhere and I love it. I can walk outside and to the water and just look up at the sky without being disturbed by anybody or anything.

If you are a night owl, then embarrass it. It’s wonderful and sometimes you may see things others may not. Maybe you will see the shooting stars, Maybe you will see night life that others can’t witness, maybe you will have a moment with the stars. One way or the other enjoy the sky and the moon. It’s wonderful to take in and just be free. Let the moon and stars shine for just you and you alone.
