There are so many things I want to say and so little time before I pass out, but here we go. One thing I learned today, always bring extra shoes when you go anywhere internationally. I learned this lesson from today's hike. See, the shoes I brought with me were not the best shoes for Iceland hiking. Of course, I didn't know this until I got here and started doing these long treks. They got muddy, wet, and just plain disgusting. So I had to wash them when I got to my campsite and now they are drying. I doubt that they will be ready for action tomorrow which means that I will be going barefoot to most of the places I will be visiting. One is an ATM so I can get some cash and then get some coins. Apparently the laundry machines here don't take a card and they require you to have coins to use them. Not only is that frustrating but it also puts me in a weird situation for tomorrow. 

Laundry day will be quite the hustle and bustle since I have to find somewhere to do my laundry. I'm not sure if they have laundrymats in Iceland but if not then I have to go to a campground to use theirs. The one here doesn't have one which makes things be crunched up when it comes to needing clothes and of course, with the weather being the way it is, I will probably freeze while I do it but that is just how things go it seems. 

Not only that but hiking here is no joke. It is difficult and it is long. The hikes here are worth the views and everything but man you better be prepared for when you get done. You will be exhausted and wishing for that hot shower and for your feet to soak in a hot bath. Honestly, I have done two of these hikes and both of them were pretty difficult to do. I didn't get to see what I wanted to see and some mistakes were made that I can't undo but that doesn't mean it wasn't worth the trek. I learned a lot doing these hikes and I saw a lot of beautiful things. I just wish people would have put up better trail markers and also would have been more clear about how long it will take to get to your destination. People have put up posts saying when the halfway point is but not really a distance. Honestly, it was frustrating and I almost got lost on my way back. I didn't get to see what I wanted to see and that made the trek pretty difficult to appreciate. I saw lots of waterfalls but not the columns I seek. 

If I ever come back to Iceland there are now two trails I will try and complete. Maybe someday.
