Leaving them behind

I got to experience what it was like to drop off my art and then leave my art in a place that I just started working at. For me its almost like leaving my phone behind. Sure I want them to sell and thats how they sell. You leave them for the general public to see and purchase. Then you hope you can make some money and then turn around and make more. In my eyes my house practically is my gallery and so I get to see the pieces everyday and I get to love them over and over just by walking around the corner. Now I have to drive into town to see the pieces.

But really the fun was getting to know the person who is allowing me to put my art in her store. She had a blast putting them up and making sure that she got the placements just right. She even commented to me on buying a few from me that she adored. It made me very hyped to hear that and I knew that the adrenaline was pumping through me.

By the time we finished I felt like everything was calmer and that we both had a chance to step back. The pieces fit just perfectly and just seeing them up and in a store that is full of positive energy, wonderful people, and lots of beautiful items...well it was like looking at the beginning of a new journey. I get to make a name for myself and I get to do something that I love. To me that is more perfect then anything I have done....yet. I get to make a name for myself as an artist and I think that a lot of people dream of that but never get to fulfill that.

Now I get that chance and yesterday was the beginning of the journey. I cant wait to see where the road leads and even though I miss my art pieces in my house, it just means I have to make more to fill in the spaces.
