Back into the city

From Wisconsin I decided to go and head to Atlanta. There is this friend in the city that I have been visiting on a regular basis and he had bought a painting from me recently. So along with all my belongings was this huge ass painting that I had decided to lug around so that it would save him some money when it came to shipping. Really I was just excited to have a normal bed and to sleep. Not only that but I was ready to see other parts of Atlanta.

To to make the drive easier I had left from Burle State Park and drove three hours south to this campground call Pigeon Lake Campground. I stayed the night there and the next day I drove almost seven hours to Atlanta. Luckily I woke up early and left at a reasonable time so that I could beat the traffic in the city. The drive was pretty reasonable and the weather was nice so it didn't get to bad when I did come to a small standstill in Kentucky. I was able to roll down the windows and get a nice breeze to cool myself off as we waited for them to clear the area.

From the standstill traffic I easily maneuvered my way to the outside of Atlanta but once I got to the city I remembered why I hate driving through the city itself. It's an absolute wreck and getting to your destination is like a jigsaw puzzle. There are so many roads that go off of other roads and you have to pay attention to where you are or you'll be going in circles trying to find a way out. Really it brings up memories of when I was driving through New York and got stuck in the city for an hour just trying to find my way.

After figuring out the puzzle I got to the house and quickly started to destress and make myself comfortable. Ateneq (my friends Husky) got so excited and was all over me as I brought my bags into the house. Once I was done I wrestled with him a little bit and said hello. Ateneq seemed to be ready to go and do anything to let out his energy and I was doing my best to have him let loose while we waited for my friend (I will call him R for now) R to make his way home.

Once R was home we got ready to spend the night at a birthday party. Last time I was in Atlanta I got to meet his friends and I really enjoyed all of them and their personalities. Every single one is different and every one really does add a little something to the group itself. Not only that but they are all so entertaining if you are just people watching.

Really the rest of the night was pretty mundane in terms of all of us hanging out. WE had good drinks, some good food, laughter and genuinely a fun time as one large group. I even got to enjoy some interesting cake that had some strange fondue topping as the icing. I can say that it ended with a bang and I really enjoyed the start to a wonderful weekend.
