When I was in Atlanta for a Passenger concert I met a Girl that was absolutely amazing. She was pretty, smart and had quite the character. We shared numbers and from there we started connecting. Messenger,Facebook, letters and, text messages. We planned to meet up to hangout and get to know each other. We even decided to meet up in her hometown. With that in mind I took out the cash, packed a bag and went to Atlanta. Honestly it was exciting. Very different and out there. I hadn't done anything so big before like driving six hours for someone I hardly new. Yet here I was in a car driving the way to see this stranger. She made me smile, happy, and I wanted to get to know her more.
With us both we made a plan to go out on a hike. Maybe to a mountain ridge or to a river. Really I wasn't sure what the plan was but, I was ready for everything and anything. I had a smile on my face and she kept texting me saying how excited she was. It was real, it was raw, and I enjoyed the anticipation of meeting her and spending time with her. Once I got to Atlanta I hung out in local places, subway, and starbucks mostly.
When my friend got off I drove to her house and we decided to leave my car at her home and go paddle boarding instead of hiking since I had never been before. It was awesome and so much fun. We got in the car and she started firing questions and we got along so well. We clicked instantly and I couldn't help but feel like it was a part some big plan. Maybe fate? The big question was, was it more or was it just being friends. Once we got to the lake we inflated the board and got changed. Once we started out on the lake we started figuring out how to get on the board. I had never done it before and as it turns out there were some guys that were willing to "help" us out in some way. We tried to be nice and make thing's work out.It was very strange and they were nice people but we honestly just wanted to be alone. Every time we would make a comment to each other or we were unsure of what was happening they would jump in and give us "advice". Katie jumped in and got them to back off some. Mostly I just observed at that point. After all we had just met and I wanted to know how she would go about handling the situation. It was handled after the last attempt, which one jumped in to hold the paddle board while we got on, to which Katie boldy stated that she had it handled. Once we got the boys to leave we went out on the lake and it got quiet as we talked. The lake was flat, The sun setting and the company warm. It was honestly so amazing and I enjoyed the silence with her. It felt like we were the only two in the world for that little moment we shared.
As we talked we got to know each other and started to take our time before the day was over. Sadly we did eventually have to go back to the shore and when we did we spent the next few hours talking in the car and then in her driveway. I want to meet her again and I want to get to know her better. She seems so amazing and wants to travel the world which is like finding gold in a pile of needles. Sometimes fate has a way of handing certain people to you.
